Beresford Hall is an 81 place Extra Service Status aged care facility (also known as a nursing home). Beresford Hall overlooks Sydney Harbour on the corner of New South Head and Cranbrook Roads, Rose Bay. We opened in October 2011. We provide permanent and respite (short-term) care and secure dementia-specific care in fully furnished private and couple suites. With registered nurses on duty 24 hours a day, care recipients are able to age in place without the need to move between facilities or rooms when care needs change.
Beresford Hall aims to provide the highest standards of accommodation, care and Extra Services in the aged care market. Our mission is to support care recipients to live as independently and healthily as possible in a comfortable and stimulating environment.
With extensive onsite facilities for use by all care recipients, including our Health Club, there is a strong focus on promoting an active lifestyle. Our Day Spa offers care recipients the opportunity to be pampered as well as receive allied health services in a relaxed and private setting. Our facilities include a heated pool, library, cinema, and gymnasium, as well as onsite café, private dining rooms, wine cellar, garden terrace and BBQ area. We provide social activities that include movie afternoons, music therapy, stimulating games and craft activities, visiting entertainers and community groups as well as regular care recipients functions in the private dining and conference rooms.
The overall feel of the facility is similar to that of a boutique hotel. Although no expense has been spared in creating the prestigious surroundings, it is our nurses, personal carers and support staff that best promote our mission and aims. We are proud of the way in which our care team treat every care recipients with the highest standard of care, respect and dignity.
Beresford Hall’s high standard of accommodation is reflected in its achievements as a finalist in the 2012 Australian Property Institute (API) Excellence in Property Awards and a finalist in the Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) Building Awards 2012.
Dr Shane Moran is the owner of Beresford Hall. Having been Chief Executive Officer of the family-owned Moran Health Care Group for some 15 years, Dr Moran in 2001 established his own health and aged care organisation, Provectus Care Pty Ltd, to realise his vision for the creation of boutique aged care services and, in particular, a flagship facility in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.
Dr Moran is currently involved in creating some of Australia’s most innovative residential aged care facilities across a number of sites on the east coast of Australia. Beresford Hall is the product of Dr Moran’s vision for a luxury residential aged care facility and day spa in Rose Bay. By combining superior care and services with the highest standard of accommodation, Dr Moran has embraced a future for residential aged care that significantly departs from the aged care of the past.
Dr Moran has over 30 years’ experience in the Australian and international health, aged care and retirement industries with extensive involvement in the development, design and operation of a wide range of facilities including residential aged care facilities, acute care and medical private hospitals and retirement villages. Dr Moran has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health, degrees in Commerce, Law (LLB and LLM), and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. His doctoral thesis was based on aged care in China. He has also had numerous articles published, including in journals in the health and aged care sector.
As head of the family-owned Moran Health Care Group for some 15 years until 2001, Dr Moran steered that company to become Australia’s largest private residential aged care provider (with it also having had operations in the United Kingdom and Asia), until its sale to several large institutional investors (including Macquarie Bank and AMP).
Provectus Care Pty Ltd is the Approved Provider under the Aged Care Act 1997 (Cth) for Beresford Hall. Provectus Care is operating and developing a number of other prestigious facilities in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Provectus Care aims to provide the highest standards of accommodation, care and services in all of its residential aged care facilities. Provectus Care believes in an overarching philosophy of a facilitative care framework that ensures care recipients remain as active and healthy for as long as possible.
The directors of Provectus Care have more than 30 years’ experience developing new services and businesses in the Australian and international aged care and health care industries. We have been extensively involved in designing, project managing and operating the full range of residential care services including aged care facilities, acute and medical private hospitals and retirement villages both locally and internationally.
